9/4/08: re: Voter Registration. This from my friend who's involved in voter registration, re: several students' concerns about receiving their voter cards:

"They should receive voter registration cards within 3 weeks or so but rumor has it the Denton elections office is a little behind. Students who live in Denton can visit https://elections.dentoncounty.com/goVR.asp?Dept=82&Link=292, enter their names and birthdates and see if they are registered to vote. The actual registration cards make life easier at the polls but are NOT required if a person has an ID (I think a photo is required without the registration card)."

9/2/08: 4300 students: The Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas will be staging Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? from 11/14 to 12/13; we will be discussing the play in class on 11/18. Extra-credit option: attend the production, write a short (1-2pp.) response paper discussing any aspect of the PERFORMANCE (as distinct from the play as a written text), and submit the paper to me by 12/2, along with your ticket stub. I'll grade the papers generously and substitute the grade you receive for the lowest quiz grade that remains after I've automatically dropped the lowest quiz grade overall.
