CEMETERY RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE

The Cemetery Committee was formed October 2005.  The purpose of the committee is to locate, record, photograph and, where feasible, restore all abandoned cemeteries and gravesites in Barry County.  Since it’s conception, extensive work has been done in the Corsicana Cemetery, Ferguson Cemetery and Packwood Cemetery.  A limited number of stones have been repaired or reset in the Purdy, Truelove, and Clark Cemeteries and the Lee burial site.

The restoration program is funded solely on donations.  Your support is needed and greatly appreciated.   If you wish to become an active member of the restoration team please contact a member of the Historical Society.
