At vom
Kennedy, the undertaking of a breeding is given careful thought. Drawing
on experience in breeding hounds, we believe one of the most important
consideration is the natural instincts of a dog. A well trained dog serves
you well in the field, but it is the natural instincts of a dog that are
passed on from generation to generation. We are striving to produce dogs
that have the instincts needed for the hunter.
These instincts include pointing, retrieving, tracking, range, and
cooperation.
We like dogs that are naturally strong pointers, those who don't need a
lot of training to steady them up.

We have found
that dogs that have the natural desire to pick up objects and deliver them
to you make the most reliable retrievers. |
|
Cooperative dogs are much easier to train, and also more fun to train (less
frustration).
