Subject: Gone Fishing

Dear Ones,

There is an old saying amongst fishermen that the best time to go fishing is when you have the time.

Thursday afternoon, I was out mowing my lawn when Leavon walked out to deliver a message. Our long-time friend had just called to see if we wanted to "go cat fishing" with him. If so, we could meet him at our favorite fishing hole, Roy's Catfish Hut, at 7 PM. (Our friend likes to go to this spot because it's guaranteed that we always "catch" plenty of fish there to eat.)

I told Leavon to tell our friend that any other time I would love to go, but just now I need to finish cutting my grass and I didn't think I could finish by the time he wanted to meet. She went inside to call with our "regrets".

As I continued my mowing, I thought back on the several times that I didn't "take the time" to go see someone when I should have and before I got around to it, the person passed on to the next world. I remembered that after those incidents, I promised myself to not let that happen again.

While I harbored no thoughts of this happening to my "cat fishing" friend, it still got me thinking. "Shucks", I said to myself, "this grass can wait until another day.... this evening is the best time to go cat fishing.... why?.... because I have the time".

Don't get too busy with life that you don't take time to live a little... and go fishing with your friends.

Treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with.

Take the time to enjoy your friends.... treasure your time together.... after all, that's what friends are for!!

Have a great day and may all your Saturdays be special.

Don
