As we
move into 2005 our Club is in very good shape. We are close to
being debt free. We received part of the funds from the sale
of the wetlands on Nov. 30, 2004. We will receive the rest of
the money before the middle of January, 2005. Then we will
know exact numbers for all loan payoffs, taxes, and
cash.
This we year we are restructuring our dues. In
years past our dues covered operations and capital
improvements but due to not enough members, we ended each year
owing some debt. In 2005 your dues (same as 2003 & 2004:
$160 Family membership) will be used for operations. You will
also be paying $25 quarterly into a Capital Fund to pay for
capital improvements (equipment, sanding, course improvements,
Pro Shop improvements, Club House improvements). Operations
money and Capital improvement money will be separate. If we
have extra Operations funds, they will go into a Reserve
account. If we don't have enough Operations funds, dues will
increase. As our Capital fund increases from your $25
quarterly payments, projects will be completed. If we don't
have funds, we won't start projects. If we need expensive
machinery, your quarterly fee may increase temporarily to pay
for the machine. If we don't have projects, the funds will sit
in the account until needed.
As always increasing our
membership is a priority. As of mid December we had 208
members. We have room for many more members. Each of us needs
to recruit new members. MORE MEMBERS = enough operational dues
and more capital funds. LESS MEMBERS = operational dues
increase and less capital funds.
Besides it's fun to
have your friends/family as members to enjoy all the fun
activities with. We've got a great club. Let's make it even
better with additional members!
