Roxanne Olson's Turtle Brownie Recipe

 

Ingredients:

(1) 14 ounce package of caramels

2/3 cup evaporated milk

(1) 18 ounce box German Chocolate cake mix

3/4 cup softened butter or margarine

1 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)

(1) 12 ounce semisweet chocolate chips

 

How to make the yummy brownies:

Mix caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk on top of a double boiler. Stir until melted.

Mix in cake mix, add remaining mile and butter blend until it holds together. Stir in nuts.

Press one half of cake mixture in greased 9 by 13 inch pan and bake 7 minutes at 350 degrees.

Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Pour caramel evenly over the top.

Crumble remaining mix over caramel. You can drop 1/2 teaspoon at a time.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut.
