Gig Harbor Ladies Club
Weekly Tournament Information
| Scramble: | All players tee off. The best drive is selected. |
| Each player hits the second shot from this point, | |
| placing your ball within one club length of the | |
| shot selected (not improving your lie/condition, if | |
| you are in the rough, stay in the rough, sand, etc.) | |
| Continue this process until the ball is holed out. | |
| On the green, place your ball within six inches. | |
| Better Nine: | Play 18 Holes of regular Medal Play. Select the |
| "better" nine, front or back, subtracting 1/2 your | |
| handicap to get your "net" nine hole score. | |
| Medal Play: | This is when you play your own ball for all 18 holes. |
| Please confirm with the Pro Shop if "Summer" or | |
| "Winter" rules are in effect that Tuesday. | |
| Odd or Even: | This is 18 Holes of Medal Play. However, Before |
| you tee off your first hole for the day you need to | |
| declare if you will be using "odd" or "even" numbered | |
| holes for your competition score. Subtract 1/2 your | |
| handicap to get your "net" nine hole score. | |
| Blind Partners: | Everyone plays 18 Holes of Medal Play. The |
| tournament chairman will pick up all the cards for | |
| the day. A blind draw for partners will be done for | |
| all players that day. If there is an odd number, one | |
| player (blind draw again) will be paired up twice. | |
| The two 18 hole scores, minus both players | |
| handicaps, will be added to get the days winners. | |
| Two Person | |
| Best Ball: | Pick a partner and play 18 holes of medal play. |
| For each hole, take your handicap strokes where | |
| they fall, giving you a "net" score for each hole. | |
| Pick the best "net" score between the two partners | |
| for your "best ball" score each hole. Add the 18 | |
| holes of "best ball" for your final score result. | |
| Should there be an odd number, player without a | |
| partner, the tournament chair will "blind" draw you | |
| a partner. | |
