Yesterday we spent about an hour on the CityCat, Brisbane's new river ferry system. They are named CityCats because they are built on the design of a Catamaran. Notice in some of the pictures that even though they ride low in the water, they are actually sitting on 2 runners. Each runner has a water thrust propulsion system that allows the boats to run extremely quickly and makes them very manueverable as well. We went about 4 miles down the river and back and shot the pictures you can see. Many people seem to make use of the ferries to get into the downtown area and back.
