      My name is Bill Karaffa and I live in  Boulder Junction Wisconsin. Boulder is located in the extreme northern part of the center of the state. I have maintained my studio here since 1977. I primarily produce reduction fired stoneware pottery in the oil-fired kiln I constructed in that year.

    With my work I carry on a tradition of craftsmanship, a commitment to strong form, technical innovation, and artistic vision that has been passed on from master to student. I feel ties to historical pottery from many cultures. These influences have combined, resulting in some distinctive decorative techniques, and have led to the development of a recognizable body of work which has been widely shown throughout the Upper Midwest and is available at my own shop, Firemouth Pottery and Gallery.
