2008
2008 was a year of "maintaining". Not a lot of changes, just more
of the same. As I start to think of
spring 2009, I realize that even though little changed, 2008 deserves to
be recorded! After giving some thought as to why this 2008 page was
never built or published, I realize that the few changes that did take place left me
feeling dissatisfied and disheartened. The huge
tree that once sheltered our patio and swing/arbor had
to be removed in the fall of 2008. Also many of the roses on the garden
room fence
were removed due to RRD (Rose Rosette Disease). I have since planted
more bittersweet along the fence line and will only have roses along the
fence at the front of the garden. Never again will the garden be
surrounded by a wall of blooming roses in early June. Sad but
true.
Now, as spring 2009 approaches, I again realize that a garden is never
done, is always changing,
and that new and different challenges await our garden in 2009.
