Promoting Vocations In Your Home
Teach Bible stories to your children, especially when they are young. Begin with a children’s Bible and give them Bible through the years
that correspond to their understanding of the faith. If many stories are unfamiliar to you, enjoy learning them together. St. Jerome said that
ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.
Social Justice
Angel Tree Has Begun
Mary, Mother of the Church Parish is once again joining efforts with Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Cornerstone Church, and the La
Crosse County. Please join us in becoming a “Christmas Angel”. Here is how it works: select an “Angel” off of the MMOC Christmas Angel Tree.
Place your angel and monetary gift in the envelope and drop in the box provided. The Angel Tree Committee will then take care of purchasing
the gift cards for you. Your gift will be included with a specially made Christmas card, inviting the families to celebrate at our Christmas
Mass. The gift cards will be delivered to the recipients a few days before Christmas. This will allow them time to purchase the exact food and
gifts needed for their families. The deadline for donations is Sunday, December 13. If you know of individuals or families that could use help
during this Christmas Season or at anytime during the year, please direct them to call Catholic Charities at 782.0710.
National Night of Prayer at St. James
The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception has been a time that Catholics have prayed for an end to abortion at what is known as the
National Night of Prayer for Life. St. James will again host this prayer time before the Blessed Sacrament. The prayer vigil will begin
Tuesday, December 8, at the conclusion of 5:20 p.m. Mass with Benediction at 12:00 midnight. Please plan to come and pray.

Cookie Walk News
The time is approaching quickly for us to prepare for the cookie walk on Saturday, December 12. Our previous Cookie Walks have been very
successful, so we are expecting even more shoppers this year! There will be sign-up sheets in the entrance of the church for the next few
weekends. Please dig out your recipes for your favorite Christmas cookies, bake them up, and drop them off at the school on Thursday, December
10, or Friday, December 11, preferably in the morning so we can set up in the afternoon. We also sell candy and crafts so those contributions
will also be appreciated. Soup or chili is sold for the lunch. For those wishing to contribute with soup or chili, the recipes are provided at
the sign-up table.
Crafters For Cookie Walk
Those who donate their talents through crafts have now just three weeks before the Cookie Walk. We hope to have a large selection of your
