This is a "Blue
Ridge Coral". As you can
see; it is not blue but tan with white polyps.
It is called Blue Ridge because it's skeleton
is blue when the coral is dead. The dead
skeleton is often sold as decoration. Please,
never buy dead coral skeletons as decoration
as this practice devastates coral reefs and
is be a serious detriment to our hobby.
This coral has been in the tank for
several
years and has almost doubled in size. The
tips reach the water surface. Sometimes this
coral does not open for days but then polyps
out very nicely.
