This is my light hood containing 2-175 watt 10000k German metal halides and 2-40 watt actinics. It has cooling fans at both ends and is made of aluminum by a friend in the metal-working business. What's better than having lots of metal-working tools? Having a friend with lots of metal-working tools! I think that I saved several hundred dollars by asking my friend to build the box, buying the other parts and assembling  the hood myself. It also has a Lexan splash shield on the bottom...very important.
