Bulletin

…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

Bro. Bobby Mills will be preaching for us today. Please pray for him and open your hearts to receive what the Lord has laid upon him to preach.

Shhhh!! Don’t forget the SURPRISE birthday party for Bro. John Babish this afternoon at 2:00

Bro. Roger wants to start having our visitation meetings on Sunday nights starting tonight. Please bring your favorite finger food and plan on staying for a time of fellowship.

This Wednesday night will be the time for our monthly men’s meeting. There are so many important things going on now, please be sure and make plans to be here.

Bro. Jeff and Bro. Roger ask that you be in prayer about possibly moving Wednesday night service from 7 to 6 so that the youth would not be out so late on a school night and they are going to start a Van Ministry for the kids that parents do not come to church. An ad will be put on channel 6 announcing the Van Ministry and this could be a very important step for reaching people that do not attend church. Bro. Jeff has a lot of things planned for the youth this new year. If you would be able to help please let him know. Please let Bro. Jeff and/or Bro. Roger know of anyone that would like a ride to church.

Bible Clubs will start back September 4th on Wednesday nights.

Choir practice will be tonight at 5:15

We will be taking up our Youth offering in the evening service.

There was a movie a few years ago called Outbreak, which chronicled the spread of the deadly Ebola virus from one infected monkey to an entire community. It showed how quickly and with what velocity a virus could be spread.

Greg Stier, of Dare 2 Share Ministries, in his book by the same name, took this concept and applied it to evangelism. What if one of us got infected with the gospel with such velocity and ferocity that it couldn’t help but be spread? What if we became ‘carriers’ of the gospel, allowed it to infect us, and allowed our infection to spread to others like that? What if we took the Gospel as seriously as the early church did in Acts?

Think about it. Let the power of the Gospel infect you in that way, so that you are a courageous ‘carrier’ willing to ‘infect’ those around you. Think about what God could do through you, in your family, in your school, in your workplace, if we allowed Him to cause that kind of an Outbreak with the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ.
