Lowfat Oatmeal Bread
Ingredients
| 3 cups bread flour | 1 tsp. salt |
| 1/2 cup brown sugar | 2 cup milk, heat almost to boil |
| 1/2 cup quick oatmeal | 2 tbs. applesauce, unsweetened |
| 1 pkg. dry yeast | 2 egg whites, beaten |
| 1 tbs. warm water | 1/4 tsp. soda |
| Non-Fat cooking spray |
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°. Mix together, flour, brown sugar, yeast & salt.
Stir in Oatmeal . Add hot milk & mix until smooth. Stir in
applesauce. Dissolve soda in warm water, add to dough. Add beaten egg whites
& mix well. Spray 2 loaf pans with cooking spray. Divide dough
into loaf pans & spray top with cooking spray. Let rise to double
size. Bake for 1 hour. Cool 5 minutes in pan & finish cooling on wire
rack.
Extra flour may be used to make a stiff dough if needed.
